Diesner Foyer
The Diesner Foyer comprises four rooms of various sizes: Freiburg, Aalborg, Grenoble and New Orleans. It is a coherent seminar wing tucked away in the privacy of the third floor. The foyer measures 520 square metres and adjoins all four rooms. It is named after the Tirolean artist Gerhild Diesner (1915–1995), whose wonderful works adorn the foyer’s walls.
A native of Innsbruck, Diesner is one of the most important Austrian artists of the twentieth century. Her characteristically vibrant and colourful artworks are also exhibited at the Innsbruck City Museum. One of her paintings in the Diesner Foyer depicts the Serles, one of Tirol’s most famous peaks.
