Congress Messe Innsbruck becomes part of the Climate Alliance network

Focus on sustainability: Congress Messe Innsbruck is committed to comprehensive environmental goals and receives an award for its commitment to climate protection.

Commitment to sustainability confirmed

Congress und Messe Innsbruck GmbH (CMI) has been accepted into the Climate Alliance network due to its continuous efforts in sustainability management. Managing Director Christian Mayerhofer emphasizes: “I am delighted to have joined the Climate Alliance Tyrol network, which reflects the consistent efforts to align all areas of the company with strict sustainability criteria. Congress und Messe Innsbruck has been investing in sustainable and climate-friendly measures for many years and has already been able to take extensive steps. As an event company with its own infrastructure, it is aware of its responsibility towards its stakeholders and the region and is highly committed to continuing to meet and continuously increase its sustainability targets in accordance with the climate plan developed with the Climate Alliance.” René Zumtobel, Provincial Councillor for Climate Protection, emphasizes that the CMI, as an important event center in Tyrol, is a multiplier for sustainable action.

Venue for sustainable events

CMI's sustainability concept includes energy efficiency, waste avoidance and social responsibility. Innovative measures such as deep groundwater wells and solar thermal systems contribute to energy generation. Travel to events is also made easier through cooperation with the public transport network. The CMI was successfully recertified with the Green Globe label in 2024 and has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel as a “Green Location” since 2015. Every year, the CMI organizes around 450 events with around 550,000 visitors and relies on sustainable practices.
