The Sports Psychology Congress of the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC) at the Congress Innsbruck was highly successful with a record number of visitors.

FEPSAC Conference successfully held at Congress Innsbruck

The FEPSAC Conference 2024 in Innsbruck, the largest in the 45-year history of the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC), ended on 19 July with a record number of around 1,000 participants from 64 nations with a share of international trade visitors of over 95 percent. While the UK was the nation with the most participants, attendees actually came from all continents, from Taiwan to Australia, Brazil, Ghana, Canada and Australia.

The congress with the motto ‘Performance under Pressure’ offered an intensive specialist programme with the latest research results and practical applications, complemented by a sporting and cultural supporting programme in and around Innsbruck. Participants, including competitive athletes, coaches and high performers from the military, police, e-sports and cutting-edge medicine, took the opportunity to exchange ideas and optimise their performance under extreme conditions.

Positive feedback and a varied programme in an alpine-urban atmosphere

Christopher Willis, Congress President and Head of the Sports Psychology Section of the Professional Association of Austrian Psychologists (BÖP), expressed his satisfaction with the positive feedback and the high level of professional expertise as well as the professional organisation of the Congress Innsbruck. Christian Mayerhofer, Managing Director of Congress Messe Innsbruck (CMI), emphasised the successful cooperation with the FEPSAC association and the advantages of the alpine-urban environment for the congress participants.

The varied programme included daily yoga sessions, trail running and sightseeing in Innsbruck, complemented by childcare, which allowed many participants to combine their stay with family activities. Overall, the congress was a great success, both professionally and organisationally, and helped to present Innsbruck as an attractive venue.
